There are many right ways and few wrong ways to apply Waterlox Tung Oil Finishes. It seems that every craftsman has his or her own way to use our products. This is yet another reason why Waterlox is the choice of so many woodworkers, pros and do-it-your-selfers alike.

On everything from furniture and woodwork to bamboo fly rods and chop sticks, Waterlox is brushed, wiped, padded, dipped, rolled, sprayed, and wet sanded. We are continually amazed (and sometimes amused) by the techniques that many woodworkers have utilized when applying Waterlox finishes.

However, around here, we think that the less time that you spend finishing a desk, the more time you can spend with you feet up on it! For that reason this guide will be targeted to give you a truly professional looking finish with a minimum amount of work. (But that doesn’t mean that we want you all to stop being inventive!)

This Finishing Guide is intended to be used as a reference for Waterlox customers, homeowners, and contractors to follow when working on wood-finishing projects like woodwork, doors, furniture, and hobby/craft work. For floors, see our
Wood Floor Finishing Guide  for dining tables and countertops, check out this section: Wood Countertops  Tools, products, materials, techniques, building codes, and local regulations change; therefore, Waterlox assumes no liability for omissions, errors, or the outcome of any project. The reader must always exercise reasonable caution, follow applicable codes and regulations, and is urged to consult with a professional.
