Can I use your products on my deck?

In general, exterior horizontal surfaces such as decks produce maintenance issues, and we do NOT recommend products for use on decks that are exposed to full UV rays.  The question really is how much direct UV light the floor will see.
If floor will be exposed to direct UV light, we suggest 2 coats of Original Sealer/Finish followed by 2 coats of Original Marine Finish. Our Marine Finish is made from tung oil and a special resin that provides a high gloss that stands up to marine and exterior exposure and reflects the UV instead of absorbing it.

When the gloss begins to fade, this is the key to knowing that the UV rays are beginning to affect the finish and that it’s time to re-coat. You do not need to sand down to bare wood to refinish the surface; simply clean the surface and apply another coat of Marine Finish.

Waterlox should not be applied over outdoor pressure-treated lumber. We suggest using a product designed specifically for this application.

Will water hurt the finish?
The origin of our name Waterlox stands for "locks out water."  Of course, you should not allow pooled water to remain on any wood surface.
