Project: Quarter Boats USS Constellation Baltimore, MD Wood: Atlantic white cedar, oak and ash Finish: Waterlox Original Marine Sealer and Waterlox Marine Finish
The USS Constellation constructed in 1854 is a sloop-of-war, or corvette. It was the last sail-powered warship built by the U.S. Navy. She now is at permanent berth at the Baltimore Inner Harbor, and designated a Museum and National Historic Landmark. Waterlox is very proud to be a Supplier/Sponsor of the USS Constellation Museum
The Museum is currently building replicas of Constellationās Quarter Boats using plans lofted from the original 1854 line drawings. The boats are planked in Atlantic white cedar on steamed white oak frames with the thwarts and interior trim of ash. Waterlox Marine Sealer and Waterlox Marine Finish is being used to protect all exposed wood.
